Sinus Headaches - what can you do about them?
Sinus Headache - what can you do about them?
You feel constant pain behind your cheekbones, forehead and bridge of your nose. Sometimes the pain gets worse as you move around and you may have a runny nose or a feeling of fullness in your ears. Your sinuses are air-filled spaces inside your forehead, cheekbones, and behind the bridge of your nose. When they get inflamed -- usually because of an allergic reaction or an infection -- they swell, make more mucus, and the channels that drain them can get blocked.
The build-up of pressure in your sinuses causes pain and feel like a very bad headache. It is important to see a medical provider to make sure you have not developed an infection. Your doctor may prescribe antihistamines, mucolytics (medications that clear your mucus), and decongestants. If you have developed a bacterial infection, your provider can prescribe antibiotics. My Urgent Care Clinic located at 910 River Road can help you determine the cause and treatment of your headache from 8am to 8pm every day of the week. You don't need an appointment to be seen and treated quickly. 830-331-2391. #boerneurgentcare, #sinus headache, #sinus infection
